Learn More OUR PROJECTS Great Lakes Conservation Corps Now accepting applications for the 2020 season! Each summer the SWP hires and trains between 25-30 young men and women to work on the GLCC! Travel, camp and work on a variety of restoration, recreation and community projects including green infrastructure, dune restoration, trail building, wetland restoration, tree planting, native plant restoration and more. LEARN MORE Partnering For Watershed Restoration The Partnering for Watershed Restoration (PWR) group is a collaborative effort of Federal, Tribal, State and local agencies, academic institutions, non-profits, citizen groups and industry to accelerate watershed restoration through sharing information and pursuing projects of shared interest throughout the central and western Upper Peninsula LEARN MORE Marquette Climate Adaptation Task Force The Great Lakes states are at a critical time in climate and energy planning as energy becomes more expensive and the extremes of climate change challenge the region. SWP is working with regional partners to foster cooperation in climate change adaptation planning and mitigation efforts, such as the Climate Adaptation Task Force (CATF). LEARN MORE Community Environmental Monitoring Program The SWP in partnership with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and the Community Foundation of Marquette County conducts independent environmental monitoring at the Eagle mine, the Humboldt Mill and along the designated Transportation Route. Environmental monitoring includes air quality, groundwater quality, surface water quality, wildlife, plant life and more.
